While waiting for concrete announcements from Nintendo, the Switch 2 would obviously have a lot of interesting things under the hood.
While the Japanese manufacturer’s future console was approached by developers during Gamescom, a clearly well-informed insider would have reported some juicy rumors from this presentation.
A future truly new generation Nintendo Switch?
A true goose that lays the golden eggs for Nintendo since its release 6 years ago, the hybrid console is seriously starting to show its age. However, the Japanese manufacturer was not really in a hurry to find a successor, given its impressive success.
Everything comes in time to those who wait, and insistent rumors around the famous Nintendo Switch 2 have become more and more numerous in recent months. We were particularly expecting a machine with power equivalent to that of a PS4, but new information a priori viable suggest a completely different story, more in line with what we find on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
NateTheHate, a well-known insider, would indeed have some juicy details from sources close to the developers who saw the beast in action during Gamescom. If we are to believe his latest podcast on the subject, the Switch 2 would indeed be capable of running The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 4K at 60 frames per second… thanks to DLSS.
Ray tracing more efficient than on other consoles?
In itself, however, such a performance does not seem that impressive, the title having also been released in 2017. But NateTheHate did not stop there regarding the Switch 2. The developers in the know would have also seen the console do shoot the technical demo The Matrix Awakenspowered by Unreal Engine 5, ray tracing included.
The irony is that this technology so much highlighted these days would have displayed better optimized results on the Switch 2 than what is displayed on PS5 and Xbox Series when launching the technical demo.
Even though NateTheHate has established itself in the past as a reliable source, it is nevertheless prudent to take this information with a grain of salt. It is better to wait for an official announcement from Nintendo around this famous Switch 2, the release of which should take place in 2024.
