When Microsoft is not busy encouraging you to use Copilot, the publisher is improving its existing applications on Windows. For several months, he has been preparing a brand new version of Sticky Notes, these post-its that you can stick on your desk to keep your notes visible at all times. Rumors also announced extensive integration with OneNote and the Microsoft 365 suite as a whole.

The Redmond firm has finally lifted the veil on this new application. This is now available in the latest build of Microsoft 365 in the Preview channel. In fact, this is not a “standalone” application, but rather a new advanced OneNote feature. It is therefore possible to access it via a new button in the software menu.

Sticky Notes gets a makeover and is full of new features

By clicking on it, the user is greeted by two buttons: Note And Screenshot. As their name suggests, the first allows you to create a new story and the second to capture an area of your screen. Additionally, Sticky Notes now displays the source of the screenshot, which allows you to open the saved web page or file. It is also possible to display a particular note in another window whose size can then be adjusted.

Just like its ancestor, the new Sticky Notes can be pinned to the desktop, which allows you to have it next to you at all times when using another application. In addition, it is also possible to invoke it with an icon on the taskbar or with the keyboard shortcut Windows + Alt + S. Microsoft had already paved the way for synchronization: notes can be found on any device connected to the user’s account.
