Last December, Bandai Namco registered the trademark “Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn” near theEUIPO and simply “Beyond the Dawn” in Japan. Tales of Arise is already no longer young since it was released in September 2021 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Since then, he has enjoyed two pleasant collaborations with Sword Art Online And Scarlet Nexus, but nothing really remarkable. We thought the editor was done with him and was focusing on the inevitable next episode. However, he will be present at Tokyo Game Show 2023 with a live for its two years promising us the latest information on the license in the presence of the seiyuu ofAlphen And Shionne, Takuya Satō and Shino Shimoji, as well as producer Yusuke Tomizawa. Well, we won’t have to wait until the Japanese event to find out what awaits us, because the State of Play of this night just took care of it !
Beyond the Dawn will therefore be a “large-scale” extension which will be launched on November 9, 2023 on all of the game’s original platforms, which will be necessary to enjoy it. The dialogues will once again be dubbed into English and Japanese, while the texts will be entitled to localizations in French, English, Italian, German, Spanish (classic and neutral), Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Korean.
The story will take place one year after the end of the story and will therefore obviously be aimed at players who have completed the adventure by adding around twenty hours of additional content, with new quests, dungeons and bosses in addition to a new narrative arc. Alphen and the rest of the group are then considered as Liberating heroes by Dahna And Destroyers of rights by Rena. They will then meet a young girl named Nazamildaughter of a lord renien known to players and a Dahnienneand try to change her destiny, because she risks falling victim to the curse of the mask.

We are honored to present Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn. Through this expansion, players will be able to discover a story that depicts the world after the main events of Tales of Arise, released in September 2021.
This is the first DLC in the Tales of saga, and it is a direct continuation of the main story. We’re going to talk about what players can expect from the scenario and why we chose to create it.

An extension that seeks to please

In this title, you will dive into a new story and a new adventure which will take place on the planet resulting from the union of the two worlds. This story will make you meet a young girl named Nazamil. You will also follow Alphen as she reunites with her group to face the cruel fate that your new friend has followed.
The new character Nazamil is a descendant of both the Dahnians and the Renians. Her father is a lord who blocked the player’s path in the main story of Arise. (we won’t reveal which lord it is until release). We hope you’ll speculate and discuss details you’ve seen in the trailer. You may wonder if her uniqueness will be accepted by the people of the new united world or if she will be violently rejected.
The new story is rich and complex: I spent more than 20 hours immersing myself in this narrative experience during my test, while taking the time to re-explore this new world that is now one. Our goal with this opus, and what we were certain of during the testing phase, is that for players, this new experience should give them the same feeling as watching a good movie.
Since the release of Arise, many people who loved the main story have asked us to make a sequel, and the development team has long discussed and deliberated about the importance and involvement that would be necessary if we were to really go beyond the original story.
For us, it’s also a way to represent what Arise was to us.
What Arise left us
The main story of Arise describes the end of servitude between two worlds and two races, but also the relationship between Alphen and Shionne. Two people who could be described as opposites have undergone a significant evolution from servitude to equality, from rejection to understanding, thus marking the dawn of a new heart.
The protagonist, Alphen, refuses the idea of sacrifice at the end of his journey: he makes his ideals of mutual understanding and coexistence his greatest strength, and he performs miracles. In this regard, Arise’s story was also a work of greater scope than previous Tales of titles.
Only one adversary, Vholran, categorically opposes him until the end, leaving behind the following curse: “Know that this path… is strewn with betrayal, despair and corruption. »
He is right: there will be new challenges and new tensions in the world to come.
And yet, everyone will manage to overcome the challenges with their companions who are deeply devoted to them. The story of dawn ended with a glimmer of hope for the future, while still keeping a trace of worry in their hearts.

The Tales of are a story of perpetual life
I like these intriguing stories that endure and sometimes reflect reality. On the other hand, I like to remember the characters’ future lives and suddenly wonder how they continue to cope with this world after the fact.
We decided to focus on these emotions, make them evolve by developing this title and share them with you as they grow even bigger. As the name “Beyond the Dawn” suggests, it is a direct story about the future and the reality that awaits us beyond the dawn, and which follows Alphen’s journey directly.
This also reflects the Tales of team’s philosophy that the twists and turns of the characters’ lives continue beyond the confines of the product.
Thanks to the power of this desire, the volume of additional DLC has exceeded our initial expectations, and the quality of the cutscenes has further improved. That’s why, when I tested the finished product, I said to myself: “Oh, it’s like watching a good movie…”.
We would like to remind you that even if the game system comes from Arise and does not change significantly, Beyond the Dawn is an experience that will offer you incredible immersion with its new dungeons, its many new quests and its superb additional costumes . Stay tuned for details to come.
Additionally, although the story of Beyond the Dawn is a continuation of the main story, we wanted all users to be able to enjoy the game at the same level. To achieve this, a certain amount of skills and other statuses are provided initially, we didn’t do a simple transfer of levels and statuses from the main game. Instead, we prepared bonuses such as money and skill points based on data from the main game. So we hope you enjoy the new story while taking advantage of these bonuses and evolving the characters as you wish.
