Tanks, sprints and climbing: a host of features are expected on Fortnite soon

Fortnite still has many surprises in store for us for the rest of the season, and certainly for the start of the next one. Since patch 19.10, dataminers manage to isolate data related to potential future features. Hypex compiled them into a tweet, and there’s plenty to do. The leaker even estimates that the war between the IO organization and the Seven will last more than a season, given the leaks in question.

Giant drills, future vehicles of the game?

If you’ve been following the plot of this season, you’ve no doubt seen them in various places around the island. The IO gradually came out of the ground, directly from the other side of the island. These machines could in the future become two-seater drivable armored vehicles (one pilot + one passenger).

Hypex thinks the vehicle files relate to drills because they mention tank tracks.

Sprint and climbing: there will be sport

Adding a dose of dynamism to the fights, the sliding feature implemented in this season 1 is a great success. Epic Games seems to have learned the lesson, and therefore plans to further enrich the gameplay of movements on its game. Various files have been found, about a “tactical sprint”, which would be activated like a slide , to move even faster.

Another file named “Clamber” was also unearthed by Hypex. According to the dataminer, it could be a climbing feature, or parkour.

Even more shields!

The list of discoveries by leakers does not end there. The mention of “tactical overshield” also appeared in files. It does not refer to the classic shield or the HP gauge. It would therefore a priori be a new protection gauge, which would make it possible to go beyond the maximum of 200 HP.

A new weapon to come out of the IO forges?

Finally, dataminers got their hands on the stats of a future thermal weapon. An assault rifle to be exact. It would only exist as a variant mythicaland would therefore likely be equipped with a thermal sight.

Weapon Stats

  • Damage: 39
  • Head Damage: 78
  • Reload time: 2 seconds
  • Magazine Size: 15
  • Rate of fire: 1.8
  • DPS: 70

After Ariana Grande, another major artist is about to set foot on Fortnite. A Bruno Mars skin is indeed in the pipeline, and the singer’s skin can also be previewed via a dedicated Cup.
