A Japanese engineer has developed a screen that you can … lick.

The latter, called TTTV (for ” Taste The TV »), Is responsible for reproducing the flavors and then requires licking the screen.

What if you lick your screen?

As part of the Digital Content Expo 2021, designer Homei Miyashita unveiled his new creation, the ” Taste The TV ” (Where ” Taste the TV “). This is a very special screen, to say the least, which works in concert with a small reservoir located above, which contains about ten flavors.

Concretely, the user can make a request to the system (caramel cake, chocolate biscuit, Toulouse cassoulet, etc.), and the machine will combine the integrated flavors to achieve a result as close as possible to the customer’s request. A small drop will then fall on the screen, which will display the requested food or dish, and it will then suffice to lick the surface to feel the taste.

The goal is to allow people to experience something like eating in a restaurant halfway around the world, even if they are staying at home. », Said the creator of this amazing TTTV. Obviously, protective films must be affixed to the screen for obvious reasons of hygiene. The concept could be used (according to its creator) for sensory awakening or for the training of cooks.
