Taylor Swift: New album "Folklore" to be released on Friday

What a surprise for Taylor Swift fans. Their new album "Folklore" is scheduled for release tomorrow.

Completely surprisingly, Taylor Swift (30, "Look What You Made Me Do") announced their eighth studio album, which will be released tomorrow Friday. "Most of the things I planned for this summer didn't happen, but there is something that I didn't plan and that happened. And this thing is my eighth studio album 'Folklore'," Swift writes on Instagram .

Already at midnight, which corresponds to 6:00 a.m. German time on Friday, "Folklore" will be published. In the 16 new songs she put all her "moods, dreams, fears and thoughts". Although she wrote and recorded the songs in self-isolation, she still managed to collaborate with some of her "musical heroes" – including Aaron Dressner (44), the band Bon Iver, Jack Antonoff (36) and William Bowery, the helped with production or writing, among other things.

16 special editions for just one week

Because it was her eighth studio album, Swift also had eight different CD and vinyl special editions each made, which can only be ordered for a week on her homepage. The additional special song "The Lakes" is also on the special physical editions, which differ with different covers, artwork and photos.

Before all the events of the year so far, Swift would have "thought too long about when the 'perfect' time is to release this music," continues the singer. Now tell her gut feeling that she should just release the album.
