Black Friday is always the best time of year to change your TV. The proof with TCL, which lowers the prices of its models equipped with Mini LED technology: the C83 and the C93.
TCL has been producing and marketing Mini LED screens for several years now. The manufacturer has acquired some experience in this area, which allows it to offer quality slabs, but also at relatively affordable prices.
Prices all the more accessible on the occasion of Black Friday. TCL lowers the price of its two star Mini LED TVs, the C83 (55 inches) and the C93 (65 inches), offered during this period, to 799 and 1199 euros respectively after ODR. A great deal to watch football in the best conditions.
TCL C83 and C93: the power of the Mini LED
The TCL C83 and C93 have the particularity of being both equipped with a Mini LED panel. A technology which tends to become more democratic, and which borrows certain advantages from OLED and LCD panels. Concretely, a Mini LED panel is based on a backlight made up of many small LEDs, much smaller than on traditional televisions.
A technical choice that allows a display with powerful luminosity and increased image definition. In effect, it offers wide dynamic range, vivid colors, and a blooming very limited. Ideal qualities for enjoying sports competitions on TV.
And on the C93, TCL does even better. The manufacturer has switched to a Mini LED OD 5 backlight. Explained more simply, this means that the Mini LEDs and the panel are spaced only 5 mm apart. Enough to significantly improve the intrinsic qualities of this technology, such as contrasts or the light peak.
Premium on premium
TCL does not just take care of the quality of its panels. The C83 and C93 also pack a myriad of features only found on high-end models:
- 4K resolution with a native 144 Hz refresh rate;
- HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compatibility;
- the Google TV interface to enjoy streaming apps;
- Chromecast and AirPlay 2 compatibility;
- 4 HDMI 2.1 ports for next-gen consoles;
- a design with very thin borders.
However, there are some differences to note between the TCL C83 and C93. The latter being more upscale, it benefits from a higher light peak (2000 nits against 1000 for the C83) and a 2.1.2 sound system signed Onkyo. Integrated into the back of the TV, it offers a speaker dedicated to bass, and two others for vertical sound effects. Enough to enjoy Dolby Atmos directly on your TV.
