(CercleFinance.com) – TechnipFMC announced yesterday that it has been awarded a major contract (a category that designates contracts in the amount between $75 and $250 million) from Equinor to provide it with skylight intervention services. without a riser (RLWI) on the Norwegian continental shelf.
The two-year contract runs from 2024 to 2025, with extension options for each of the following three years.
The RLWI method allows well interventions from a monohull vessel, eliminating the need for a riser and the rig required to connect the riser to the subsea well.
‘Instead, remote-controlled well control systems are used to facilitate operations on the seabed. This reduces cost and complexity, increases efficiency and speeds up the lead time for increased production,” TechnipFMC said.
