Telegram launches multimedia ephemeral messages

With Telegram, you will now be able to send ephemeral files. And both audio and video can be exchanged!

The messaging app industry is a cutthroat world, where the biggest players must compete for new features to continue to stay popular. And this, especially if they are already available from the competition. Signal, for example, has long offered the ability to send media ephemerally. A situation to which Telegram had to respond sooner or later. Which is finally done!

Telegram will help you not leave traces

The new update deployed by Telegram will not go unnoticed. Because among the new features offered, the application (finally) puts in place the possibility of ephemerally sending videos, but also audios, which disappear at the end of the first consultation.

To use this function, simply press the new icon that appears above the padlock when recording audio or sending the document. It will then, after reading, be erased, leaving behind only the indication indicating an expired message.

Stay careful though!

Please note, however, that if what you send will not be saved on the Telegram application, the option in no way prevents the recipient from recording the audio or video (even if only by filming with a other smartphone). So if this innovation provides a little more security, it is in no way a complete guarantee of not seeing what we have sent preserved elsewhere.

Furthermore, if photos, or even ephemeral videos, have been available for some time elsewhere, audios that can be viewed only once have only arrived more recently. WhatsApp only started offering this service at the end of last year. The start of a trend?
