After six years at the helm of the political meeting of the morning of France 2, the journalist has decided to leave her place. Caroline Roux will thus focus more on C dans l’air, the show which will be extended next season, but also on another program which she will inherit. Indeed, as confirmed by the leaders of France Télévisions during their back-to-school press conference this Wednesday, July 6, the journalist will succeed Léa Salamé at the controls of the political program broadcast in prime time on France 2. As for the one who will replace her in the 4 truths, he was naturally chosen by France Télévisions since it is Thomas Sotto. Already at the head of the morning of the public channel with Julia Vignali from Monday to Thursday, he will also ensure the political meeting from next September.
Thomas Sotto: why he left politics
For the journalist, accustomed to political broadcasts, it is therefore a return to basics. Last November, Thomas Sotto was forced to give up hosting the political program Élysée 2022 because of his relationship with a very close collaborator of Jean Castex, in this case his director of communication, Mayada Boulos. “I do not take a step back with France Télé. On the other hand, a personal event, which I do not wish to develop because it concerns my private life, pushes me to make a simple and clear decision: the time of the presidential campaign, I chose to withdraw from Élysée 2022, confided the presenter to the Parisian. (…) On the other hand, according to the same logic, I will no longer do the morning political interview Les 4 Vérités when Caroline Roux is on vacation. Since Jean Castex is no longer part of the government, Thomas Sotto can therefore take over the reins of this meeting.
