Telenor: the title retreats after the results of the 4th quarter

(CercleFinance.com) – The Norwegian operator Telenor sails against the tide of the market on Wednesday following the publication of its fourth quarter results, which are accompanied by forecasts deemed disappointing.

Around 2:15 p.m., the Telenor title dropped more than 5.3% while the OSEBX, the benchmark index of the Oslo Stock Exchange, gained 0.9% and the index of European telecom stocks advanced by 0.5 %.

Over the last three months of the year, the turnover of the telecommunications group, present in the Nordic countries and in Asia, stood at 28.15 billion crowns (-4%), a level in line with the expectations of the Marlet.

But its gross operating profit (Ebitda) fell by 1.1% in organic data, to 11.74 billion crowns, against 12.55 billion crowns a year earlier, a performance significantly below forecasts.

Its targets for the new fiscal year also seem to disappoint the market.

For 2022, Telenor expects to record an operating result (Ebitda) close to, or slightly above its 2021 levels.
