Television: be careful, your evening programs change schedule!

Psmall revolution in sight on television! Evening programs will begin in January, a few minutes later than usual. Why is that ? The decision was taken by several small screen channels to shift these programs after a call to order from the Superior Audiovisual Council (CSA) on December 14, reports The Parisian Tuesday, December 21. This reminder followed an observation: television channels were showing, more and more regularly, delays of several minutes in the broadcasting of their prime time programs, which quite annoyed some viewers.

Rather than correcting these delays, several channels therefore decided on Tuesday to shift the times of said programs. As of January 8, these will begin at 9:10 pm on TF1, France 2 and France 3. Regarding France 5, the broadcast is postponed to 9 pm. With the daily, France Télévisions notes that it is not a question of “not of change of time of the premiums, but of details of schedules for each channel”. Finally, CStar has made it known that its evening programs will begin on January 8 at 9:05 p.m.

No information has yet filtered as to the schedules of the programs of the other channels. Nothing should therefore move. However, some say that “the position could change”. The delays noted by the CSA, which often amount to several minutes, do not only concern the chains which have decided to shift their schedules. And, often, this delay is caused by pre + evening programs which themselves go beyond their own time slot. This is particularly the case on France 5, C8 or even TMC, whose broadcasts C to you, Do not touch My TV and Day-to-day are often broadcast live or with a very small delay.

And that’s without counting on the advertising broadcast after these programs. On private channels, these are very expensive when broadcast after 9 p.m. If the prime-time program corresponds to a program particularly popular with viewers, a 30-second commercial can fetch up to 100,000 euros, specifies The Parisian. At that rate, it was well worth a few minutes late on the show, right? The CSA was obviously not of this opinion …
