Fourteen people filed a complaint after the recording in Toulon, Thursday evening and Friday evening, of the program “The Song of the Year”, presented by Nikos Aliagas, and broadcast Saturday evening on TF1, informs Nice-Matin.
These people claim to have been victims of suspicious bites during the concert on the beaches of Mourillon which brought together 15,000 spectators. One of them was even hospitalized. This is a security officer working on the concert site. The number of complaints could increase, because about twenty people were in fact victims of stings. “Several complaints have already been filed and others have not yet been formalized,” said the Toulon prosecutor.
The suspect disputes the facts
In this case, two people were arrested and taken into custody. The Toulon prosecutor, however, clarified on Sunday during the day that one of the individuals had been released without charge against him.
The other individual, aged 20 and residing in Toulon, was indicted at the end of the day on Sunday and remanded in custody. According to the public prosecutor of Toulon, he was identified by two young women who explained to the investigators that they saw him with a syringe and managed to prevent him from stinging them. They also claimed to have been victims of violence on his part. However, he disputes the charges against him. Judicial information is open in particular for “violence aggravated by weapon (the syringe) and by premeditation”.
It now remains to be seen what the syringes contained. “Blood and urine samples for toxicological purposes were taken to see if there are products that would be able to establish the administration of harmful substances”, underlined the prosecutor, who specified that capillary samples will also have to be taken. be completed within 4 to 6 weeks.
An unexplained wave of stings has affected nightclubs, bars and festivals across France in recent months, with complaints lodged from Lille to Béziers (Hérault) and from Lorient (Morbihan) to Strasbourg, via Grenoble, Nancy, Lyon, Besançon or Valence. Similar events were denounced last fall in the United Kingdom with a wave of testimonies from students drugged without their knowledge by injections in nightclubs.
