Tencent found the Novarama studio (Invizimals) and gave it money

Novarama was for a few years one of the most prominent Spanish studios in the industry thanks to its partnership with PlayStation on the franchise Invizimals, a pioneer of augmented reality which had its heyday on PSP, especially in European markets. After giving birth to six games Invizimals on PSP, PS3 and PS Vita, however, Novarama has been more discreet and only released the cooperative action game Killsquad in July 2019 on Steam.

It is therefore good news to learn today that Novarama has the capacity to work on a multiplatform MMO and that the studio has opened up its capital as part of a minority stake in Tencent Games, whose emissaries are definitely present everywhere. Spain was already present on Tencent’s investment map, the latter also being the majority shareholder of Tequila Works (RiME).

Sir Isaac Newton said: to see further, you have to stand on the shoulders of giants. The partnership with Tencent, the world’s leading online game publisher, opens up a vast world of possibilities for us. Today is a big day not only for us, but also for the Spanish development community as a whole. Thank you to everyone who participated in this trip. I can’t wait to share what we’re working on“commented Dani Sanchez-Crespo, CEO of Novarama.
