Tencent is resurrecting the Delta Force franchise on consoles, PC and mobiles

Originally driven by defunct California studio NovaLogic between 1998 and 2009, Delta Force is a tactical military FPS series whose rights were eventually acquired by THQ Nordic along with NovaLogic’s other intellectual properties. But as much as Comanche got a new installment, Delta Force seemed to be waiting for someone to remember him. It’s done with Tencent (more exactly its Level Infinite label) which recovered the rights to entrust them to TiMi Studios and more particularly the TiMi J3 Studio team already responsible for Call of Duty Mobile under the leadership of its producer Shadow Guo .

So here comes Delta Force: Hawk Ops, a military FPS that targets console, PC and mobile players alike, as is now also the case for Call of Duty and soon Battlefield. Except that here we are talking about a single game that will be available simultaneously on all platforms, on a date that has not yet been communicated. However, we can already announce that this free-to-play will be launched with three distinct game modes, starting with a Black Hawk Down campaign mode which refers to the Battle of Mogadishu (1993, Somalia) and therefore to Ridley Scott’s film also known at home as The fall of the Black Falcon, itself based on the book by Mark Bowden. This campaign mode will allow you to find the characters of the film but also the remaster of the video game Delta Force: Black Hawk Down from 2004.

On the multiplayer side, Level Infinite announces an extraction mode called “Risk Operations”, taking place on a huge map where we will form teams to face other mercenaries and AI-controlled enemies, while taking care of the events random events that will take place on the map. Added to this, of course, is a large-scale PvP mode called “Devastating War” which should appeal to those disappointed in Battlefield 2042 since it’s all about team fun with all kinds of military vehicles. , tanks and helicopters. We also know that 4 operator classes will be offered at launch (Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon). You can contribute to the pre-registration counter on the official website if you feel like it.
