Franchise Terminator was treated to numerous video games, including Terminator: Resistanceedited by Reef Entertainment and developed by Teyon. The latter has since shone a little more with RoboCop: Rogue City (available on Amazon, Cdiscount, there Fnac And Gamesplanet), this time edited by Nacon. It is this same publisher who reveals today Terminator: Survivors.
But no, Teyon is not in development, it’s good Nacon Studio Milano who will design this title, after TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3. A game made official in the summer of 2022, but which offers a first teaser this evening which doesn’t tell us much. However, the studios specify that Terminator: Survivors propose to an original scenario taking place after the second film (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) , with solo and co-op. We will follow a group of survivors after the Last judgement who must survive in this post-apocalyptic world, particularly in the face of the machines of Skynet.
Four years have passed since the day humanity almost became extinct. The truth behind this apocalyptic event has not yet been revealed. You emerge from a shelter to try to reestablish some semblance of society in a world that seems desperate to eliminate you and the last vestiges of humanity. You must navigate a vast and hostile open world to scavenge materials, resources and information and gather other survivors to establish a base of operations for your fledgling group.
But you are not alone. Skynet’s machines are tracking you. They don’t feel anything. They never stop. Never. Until they have accomplished their mission: to eradicate humanity. Solo or cooperative with up to three players, raise humanity from the ashes and discover the truth behind the nuclear apocalypse, Skynet and the Terminator threat.
During your exploration, you meet iconic characters from the franchise but also some lesser known ones who are important in the story. You discover a world meticulously created by a team of fans, where many references to James Cameron’s masterpiece are hidden.
This vast open world will provide you with the materials essential to your survival and you will meet survivors who will help you improve your base, but don’t forget: the dreaded Terminator is there, stalking you, and represents a constant threat.
The story of Terminator: Survivors takes place after the 2nd film. Your encounters will teach you more about the Last Judgment and the new scenario will place you at the heart of a story where you can change the destiny of humanity.
One of your missions is to gather what little remains of humanity into a base that you will use as a springboard to establish a new beginning for man. This base will evolve according to your progress, solo or in coop, with up to three friends.
Although you have the equipment to attack in melee or ranged combat, stealth and caution may be smarter approaches when dealing with Skynet’s machines and heavily armed raiders on the prowl.
Terminator: Survivors release date already set for October 24, 2024 on PC, in Early Access via Steamconsole versions are already confirmed for later.
