Arnold Schwarzenegger once became famous through the role of "Terminator". Now the robot is supposed to return – in the form of an anime series.

The "Terminator" returns! This time, however, not embodied by Arnold Schwarzenegger (73, "True Lies"), but in the form of an anime series for the streaming provider Netflix. This is reported by the US industry website "The Hollywood Reporter".

The killer robot from the future is being brought back to life by Netflix and Skydance, the production company that owns the rights to the franchise. The project will be implemented by Mattson Tomlin (30). He already worked as one of the scriptwriters on the film "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson (34). Further details about the planned series are not yet known.

Tomlin has only revealed about the project so far: "Everyone who knows my work knows that I believe in reaching far and acting from the heart. I am honored that Netflix and Skydance are giving me the chance to use Terminator in a way approach that breaks convention, undermines expectations and shows courage. "

The first "Terminator" film with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role and directed by James Cameron (66) was released in 1984. Like Cameron, the film made Schwarzenegger famous. The first sequel "Terminator 2 – Reckoning Day" in 1991 then became a real box-office hit. Four more feature films, a television series and an animated web series followed. The last movie for the time being, "Terminator: Dark Fate", was released in 2019.
