The company hunts free riders in its cars benefiting from its autopilot solution. While some lazy people want to be able to let go of the steering wheel by cheating a little, the American group has ensured that its Full Self-Driving solution can detect devices that imitate pressure on the controls.
Tesla wants you to squeeze the steering wheel yourself
It’s no secret that the group led by Elon Musk is very keen to develop the niche of autonomous cars. And some big steps have already been taken in this direction, with the provision of a Full Self-Driving (FSD) solution for the drivers of these vehicles. With the latter, it is the car that takes you to your destination.
But, because there is a but, although relaxing your attention is nice, Tesla asks that you still keep your hands on the wheel so that you can deal with any potentially dangerous situation. And to check that you are there, the driver is regularly asked to press the controls. An obligation that is not to everyone’s taste, since a small market has emerged in parallel to buy devices simulating said pressure. And therefore allows you to keep your hands in your pockets.

Tesla moves on to sanctions

With the arrival of V11, this penalty system could change.
