Tesla published a video on X/Twitter which demonstrates the capabilities of the FSD function of the brand’s cars. The company proves that its vehicles can go from point A to point B in autonomous driving, without any human intervention.
Elon Musk announcesarrival of autopilot in Teslas for several years already, but it is slow in coming. The Twitter post is intended to be a message of hope as much as a response to detractors of the company and its FSD technology.

The brand’s account announces: “this video shows the Current driving capabilities of the FSD Beta, which began rolling out around August 23, 2023 in software update version 11.4.7 or newer. For demonstration purposes, driver monitoring via the cabin camera remained active, but the requirement to hold the steering wheel has been deactivated » (a feature that cannot be deactivated for customers).

To achieve this result, Tesla used a deep learning technology and neural networks to train its vehicle fleet with anonymized data. The company prides itself on having trained its FSD on “more driving scenarios than the average human driver (including unusual and bizarre scenarios!)”. Can we then consider that Autopilot is ready ? Everything is not perfect, as a commentator on Twitter points out, “errors in the navigation database, in the knowledge of speed limits, sudden braking”, there are always areas to improve.
