The US vehicle safety agency NHTSA has ordered two recalls for Tesla models.
A good 119,000 Model Ss are affected, in which the front trunk lid can open while driving due to a defective lock.
The Model 3 has to be taken to the workshop because opening and closing the rear trunk lid could damage the rear view camera wiring harness. In the case of the Model S, the period of production was not limited, for the Model 3, all vehicles built by 2020 are to be affected.
Playing drivers
It’s not the only problem Tesla is facing right now. Because Tesla drivers can play video games while driving, the NHTSA has opened an official investigation. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Failure Investigation Department (ODI) fears that drivers could be distracted and the risk of accidents increased.
Now the NHTSA wants to “preliminarily assess” the function. Tesla has meanwhile announced that it will no longer be able to play games while driving on the touchscreen on the dashboard of its vehicles.
