Tesla Semi: Elon Musk teases the arrival of his electric heavyweight in Europe

While the Tesla Semi is produced in reduced quantities in the Gigafactory in Nevada (United States), Elon Musk talks about the introduction of his electric heavyweight on the European market. Electrek shared this Thursday, March 14, 2024, a statement from the tycoon during his recent visit to the Tesla industrial complex in Germany: *“I think it makes sense to produce the Tesla Semi in Europe in the Berlin Gigafactory.”

As usual, the CEO did not give additional details, a potential production launch window for example. It must be said that the manufacturer still has work ahead of it before considering the internationalization of this new electric vehicle.

Indeed, the production objectives of the Nevada Gigafactory have not yet been achieved. An expansion of the site is nevertheless underway to reach the dream rate of five Tesla Semis per week, or the equivalent of 270 vehicles each year.

Until then, the Berlin Gigafactory will be content to produce the Model Y, after being attacked at the beginning of March by a group of far-left activists. The latter had set fire to a high voltage pylon, causing a power outage and damage amounting to several hundred thousand euros.
