TEST Propagation: Hotel Paradise, what is the Meta Quest 2 and Pro version worth?

Accustomed to quality titles, the developers of WanadevStudio decided to move away from the genre that allowed them to make a name for themselves, the arcade VR, And turned to the survival horror which suits virtual reality and its total immersion so well. In Spread: Paradise Hotelwe play a young bartender, Emily Diaz, entrenched in the kitchens of a hotel infested with zombies and other abominable creatures. When we pick up an unexpected message from our twin sister, we don’t hesitate and start looking for her at the risk of our lives. The game is a fine mix of exploration, infiltration, action and puzzle solving. We decided to return to this terrifying building and face our fears once again to give you our impressions of the Meta Quest 2 and Pro edition.

A high quality port where the visual concessions take nothing away from the appeal of the game or its nightmarish side.

The standalone version of the title does not have much to envy to its predecessor and, apart from a few graphic concessions obvious given the lack of power of our helmets stand-alonethe two games remain quite close. As you can see in our comparison photo, we mainly noticed a lack of finesse and sharpness on the characters. Regarding the surrounding objects, when they are fully modeled and detailed in the PC version VRon Questthey give way to more basic textures deposited on simpler 3D models.

The narration is always present, the gameplay does not vary one iota and the atmosphere remains very distressing. If the visual rendering of the environment and the characters is a notch below the PC version VRwe must nevertheless salute the work of the studio, because for VR autonomous the level is very qualitative. Obviously, in this kind of immersive productions, the graphics are not everything and the general atmosphere contributes enormously to the feeling of anxiety, which is the case here. Small noticeable difference despite everything, only one level of difficulty against four for the PC version. The time required to complete the game is identical in both versions and is around five to six hours. Finally, note that loading times are a bit long.

Ultimately, despite visual changes from one platform to another, the experience remains unchanged. In other words, the Meta Quest 2 and Pro version of Propagation: Paradise Hotel lives up to our expectations. She managed to make us stress and jump as well as the title had done on the PC, which is to say how effective the formula is. If you do not have a computer suitable for VR or if you prefer to opt for more freedom, this production is made for you.
