TESTIMONY. “I lived at night, I was afraid that my baby would be taken away from me”

On her Insta, @tribulations_dune_maman_ado, Alizée, 30, who became a mother at 17, recounts her life in drawing, with humor. A talent that led her to illustrate a book for blogger Cheez Nan.

“I’ve been drawing since I was little. My parents bought me a lot of comics. But during my struggles, I dropped everything. Mom at 17, Alizée is indeed far from having had a plan-plan life. What helped her overcome these bumps? “Drawing my diary and publishing it on social networks allowed me to no longer be ashamed of the ordeals I had gone through.” And reveal his talent. Because her drawings, which she has been publishing since 2017, have been spotted to illustrate a cookbook.

“I was following the food blogger Cheez Nan on social networks. I had made a drawing for her as a fan. After trials, she chose me for her book, Welcome to the khantosh (First editions).“ A dream come true. “A revenge too”, concedes the young illustrator who, since July, left her job as a hospital services officer in a retirement home to live from her pencil stroke. “People believed in me hard enough to make it happen. I say to myself, “Go for it, there can be no bigger failures than the ones you have already experienced. “”

“After a short love affair, I become pregnant and deny pregnancy”

Because, from the age of 15, the teenager was entrusted to the Childhood Social Assistance (ASE). “It was complicated at home. I lived with my mother and my sisters in Brittany, in a blended family where I couldn’t find my place. Rebellious, I found myself in boarding school from where I ran away regularly.” Until his parents appealed to the family court judge (JAF) in Rennes. “That day, they gave up their right to my education. I had no idea what was going to come of this meeting. I already felt alone and abandoned, it was going to be worse…”

Alizée is then placed in a home for adolescents. “I was no longer good enough for anyone. In search of affection and love, I did not realize that I was clinging to people as lost as me. ” In March 2008, she lived a short falls in love with a boy of his age and becomes pregnant. “My body did not change, I was even regulated. I did a denial of pregnancy.” At the end of September, in psychological distress, the teenager was hospitalized. “Following a blood sample, the doctors discovered that I was six months pregnant.”

“I was so afraid that my baby would be taken away from me that I barricaded myself”

In December 2008, Alizée gave birth to Maya. “At the maternity ward, they were very kind. Maya is a bright and adorable child. It was total love. My daughter was erasing all my mistakes.” When she leaves, Alizée enters a collective maternal home and then, when she comes of age, into an individual apartment under contract with the ASE. But the young mother is in total lack of benchmarks. “I couldn’t stand being watched. I didn’t respond to summonses from the ASE. I was so scared that I barricaded myself. As soon as 8 p.m. struck, I knew that no one would come knocking at my door, so I lived at night. I was afraid that my baby would be taken away from me.”

His attitude worries the social services who ask for a follow-up for Maya. “It was electroshock. I said to myself: ‘Damn, we’re really going to take it away from me!’ I called my mother crying. She took me home. She made a buffer with social services .” If the cohabitation is complicated, Alizée seizes this chance to get her head above water. “I no longer lived alone in an environment that frightened me. More serene, I said to myself: ‘Find a job and an apartment quickly.'”

“Making my comic book would be the most beautiful dream”

Leaving school without a diploma, she cleans and rents her first home. “Then I saved like crazy to pass my driver’s license. I wanted to look like other mothers, without social and financial difficulties. I no longer wanted to go through the village with my shopping bags hanging from the stroller. I didn’t want people to look down on me anymore.” Alizée meets her future husband at 23. “Maya was 5 years old. We never left each other. Romain made the full adoption file. We have the same surname.” Since then, a wind of happiness has been blowing through the life of this Bordelaise, and Alizée is ready for other challenges. “I’m leaving with a base. I have my daughter and my husband. I want to fulfill myself: doing my comics would be the most beautiful of dreams.”
