TF1 announces the arrival of Rodolphe Belmer as CEO

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The audiovisual group TF1 announced Friday the imminent arrival of Rodolphe Belmer at its head. The manager will become managing director of TF1 from October 27 before becoming CEO in February 2023. In the meantime, the functions of chairman and managing director will be temporarily separated.

“Gilles Pélisson, Chairman and CEO of the TF1 group, will propose to the Board of Directors on October 27, 2022 to appoint Rodolphe Belmer as CEO,” the group said in a press release.

“Gilles Pélisson will thus become chairman of the group’s board of directors until the closing of the 2022 accounts, on February 13, 2023, the date on which Rodolphe Belmer would be proposed as chairman and managing director of the TF1 group”, added the group.

Gilles Pélisson will become next February deputy general manager in charge of media and development of the conglomerate Bouygues, parent company of TF1.

CEO of the satellite operator Eutelsat Communications from 2016 to 2021, Rodolphe Belmer then joined the digital services company Atos, of which he was the CEO until July 2022.

Last Friday, TF1 and its competitor M6 as well as their respective parent companies Bouygues and RTL Group announced that they were abandoning their merger project, initiated in May 2021 in order to resist the rise of online television platforms, due to concerns of the French Competition Authority regarding this transaction.
