After a publication on social networks evoking the presence of pests in a TGV, the SNCF spoke out to put an end to the rumors which emerged on the web.
Bed bugs worry many people. While hospitals and cinemas seem to be affected by these pests, TGVs would also be the target of these parasites. Indeed, a tweet posted on X (formerly Twitter) on September 19 and viewed 3.4 million times, mentioned the presence of bedbugs in a TGV left from Gare de l’Est. Faced with the situation, Internet users quickly commented on the publication and expressed their concern.
As the controversy continues to swell, the SNCF has spoken out to reassure travelers: “To date, we have not had any confirmed presence of bedbugs on our TGVs in recent months”explained the SNCF this Wednesday September 20, 2023 which remains “particularly vigilant in taking each report seriously”.
A treatment implemented by the SNCF
Every 60 days maximum, the SNCF follows a preventive treatment in order to avoid any infestation of pests in its trains. A thorough cleaning is carried out by the SNCF which sets up specific traps as well as anti-pest gels. Insecticide is also sprayed in all cars and diatom powder “if necessary”.
