(CercleFinance.com) – Thales announces that it has signed a contract with the Swedish Army Material Administration (FMV) for the supply and installation of long-range SMART-L Multi Mission radars.
‘These radars will contribute to maintaining the sovereignty of Swedish airspace by providing superior air situation awareness capabilities at all times’, underlines Thales.
Designed to detect and track multiple long-range targets, ‘these radars provide continuous monitoring and location of friendly and enemy air platforms,’ the company adds.
‘We are proud to have been chosen by GMF to strengthen Sweden’s aerial surveillance capabilities in an increasingly challenging environment. With this contract, Thales will play an important role in protecting Swedish air sovereignty,” said Christophe Salomon, Deputy General Manager in charge of Land and Air Systems at Thales.
