Thales: feasibility study for PRISMA 2nd generation


(CercleFinance.com) – Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), announces that it has signed a contract with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) to carry out a feasibility study for the hyperspectral observation system of the Earth PRISMA Second Generation (PSG).

Lasting nine months, the feasibility study will adopt an innovative approach to support the development of applications allowing better monitoring of natural and atmospheric resources.

Leading a consortium including Leonardo, Telespazio (another Leonardo-Thales joint venture), e-GEOS and SITAEL, Thales Alenia Space will be responsible for building the new satellite and designing the system from start to finish.
