(CercleFinance.com) – Thales announced on Thursday that it would strengthen its partnership with the Italian Navy by inaugurating a new integrated services center at the La Spezia naval base, in the north-west of the country.
The defense electronics specialist specifies that this new center, based in Liguria and dedicated to the maintenance of sonar systems, is supposed to offer increased proximity and responsiveness to the Italian naval forces.
The objective is in particular to reduce intervention times in order to maximize the availability of its underwater research and exploration systems installed on board frigates and minehunters.
The new center, which should cover an area of 1,000 m2, will double the current number of specialized positions, divided between engineers, technicians and bid managers.
