Thales: selected by NCC Bank in Bangladesh

(CercleFinance.com) – Thales announced on Wednesday that the National Credit and Commerce Bank (NCC) of Bangladesh has deployed one of its data protection solutions.

The French group indicates that the adoption of its hardware security modules (HSM) will allow the Bangladeshi institution to meet the complex requirements of the digital transaction platform ‘IDTP’ – also known as ‘Binimoy’ – launched last year by the country’s government.

This system aims to facilitate the transfer of funds between bank accounts, mobile financial services and providers of payment systems in real time and at a lower cost.

This project, which links individuals, merchants, payment specialists, e-wallets and banks, was developed to support the government’s goal of a ‘cashless’ society.

As this platform is based on cryptographic keys to guarantee the confidentiality of transactions, NCC Bank has chosen Thales to manage its functionalities.
