Thales: series of agreements with the Indonesian defense


(CercleFinance.com) – On the first day of IndoDefence 2022, Thales signed a series of PT Len Industri agreements.

PT Len being the leading holding company of the Indonesian defense sector, Thales considers itself “particularly well positioned” to support Indonesia in the realization of its military ambitions.

The company has thus signed a contract with PT Len for the renovation of the integrated mission systems of four Diponegoro corvettes. These ships, whose delivery dates back to the early 2000s, will soon be upgraded with an integrated mission system, including the TACTICOS combat system and the latest software-based radar technology, capable of dealing with the highest levels of threat.

Thales has also signed a separate MoU with PT Pal for future collaboration in the field of integrated mission systems, sensors and associated subsystems for the Indonesian export market.

Finally, in another memorandum of understanding, PT Len and Thales announce their intention to create a joint venture (JV) which will initially provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for radars in service within of the Indonesian Air Force.
The JV should be operational by the end of 2023.
