A birthday card with a bank note is a popular gift in many families – but the post office officially forbids cash in letters. Instead, small amounts of money have to be sent in a very specific way.

For many children it is a nice surprise on their birthday or Christmas when a greeting card arrives in the mail from their grandparents or other relatives with a small gift. “Sending cash in normal letters is not permitted!”
