One of the most memorable lines from the film “Santa Claus is trash” came from a real conversation with Thierry Lhermitte!
Santa Claus is trash airs this evening of December 25 on France 2! The opportunity to discover the origin of the famous line “That’s it, yes”, uttered several times by the character played by Thierry Lhermitte during the film.
Guest of the show C à vous on France 5, Patrice Leconte, who shot the three films Les Bronzés with the whole troupe and who knows the team well, returned to the slightly crazy story of this line:

“The Splendid, there were six of them, there are still six of them. (…) And then it started to work a little for them. They all had the same agent, Georges Lambert. (…) And they say to themselves: ‘It would be good to tell Georges Lambert that we’re leaving him, because he doesn’t do anything for us, or at least not enough’.”
“They draw lots, and it falls on (…) Thierry Lhermitte”continues Leconte. “So they have a meeting, and Georges Lambert is a bit of a strange guy. He smoked cigarettes with a cigarette holder. That doesn’t happen anymore. (…)”
‘There, Georges, it works a little for us, I’m not sure that…’, in short, he gets his feet wet a bit, and he ends up saying to him: ‘Well, we’re going to leave the agency’. There was enormous radio silence, and Georges Lambert, after a moment, simply said, drawing on his cigarette holder: ‘That’s it, yes’!
And since then, the line has remained, reused by Thierry Lhermitte in Le Père Noël, almost as a punctuation of his character of Pierre Mortez. A little uptight, with a lock of hair neatly combed and ultimately quite mean, Mortez attacks his colleague Thérèse in particular, who according to him “does not have an easy physique” but for whom he harbors feelings which are expressed in particular …by painting!
