After freezing its prices in 2023, La Banque Postale has just revealed, in its new price brochure, around twenty price increases which will come into force on January 1st. Here are the details.
The years follow one another and are not the same. At the end of 2022, six banks announced a freeze in their banking rates in 2023, in order to relieve households weakened by inflation. At the end of 2023, inflation remains high (5% on average this year, compared to 5.2% last year). But this time there will be no frost. The risk is even that there will be a catch-up.
La Banque Postale, which was among the 6 establishments to have frozen their fees, has just published its new price brochure for individuals, the one which will come into force on January 1, 2024. It includes a twenty price increases, between 2.25% and… 100%. Here’s what its 11 million customers should expect.
Bank cards: more moderate increases on the high end
This is a constant in almost all banks: every year, the price of bank cards increases by a few percent. This will again be the case next year at La Banque Postale, with increases ranging from 2.25% for the most high-end card, the Visa Infinite, to 5.11% for the most common, the Visa Classic. The rise in prices, in fact, is, as is often the case, inversely proportional to the range of the card.
Other price lines linked to the use of the card are also increasing, in particular the price of withdrawals outside La Banque Postale ATMs, which increases from 0.85 to 1 euro (+17.6%), from the 4th withdrawal per calendar month.

Jump of more than 21% for account maintenance fees
Freezes in 2023, account maintenance fees will jump by more than 21% in 2024, going from 16.80 to 20.40 euros per year. The same goes for inactive account maintenance fees, which increase from 25 to 30 euros (+20%), i.e. the maximum authorized by regulations.
The concomitant increase in account maintenance and bank card fees also affects the price of service group offers. The basic package, Allyatis with Visa Classic, takes 7.5%, 85.20 euros per year.

Transfers initiated in branches up 25%
Ms. La Banque Postale, which maintains the largest network of contact points in France, it is better to be comfortable with digital tools to perform certain operations. The price of operations initiated in agencies continues to increase. This is particularly the case for occasional transfers (+25%, 5 euros each) and permanent transfers (+12.25%).
Other payment method affected by increases: the check. The price of opposition fees jumps by almost 24%, to 13 euros. 13 euros is also the new price of a bank check (+8.3%).

More expensive payment incidents
+14.5% for the intervention commission, +8.3% for the letter prior to the rejection of the check and even +100% for the fixed minimum agios: La Banque Postale will tighten the related fees next year overdrafts and payment incidents.

Sharp increases in processing fees
In 2024, La Banque Postale will not only increase the prices of everyday services. Certain fees, levied on the occasion of specific events, also show significant increases: +66% for the minimum amount of real estate file fees, for example, or +50% for the maximum amount of estate processing fees. .
