The 7th Guest VR is a virtual reality adaptation of the adventure game developed by Trilobyte in 1993. It is one of the first games that really exploited the storage possibilities of the CD-ROM. Then available on PC (Windows), Mac and CD-I, it was played in first person view (FPS) and the player moved through pre-calculated 3D scenery in which video content was added. The action takes place in an abandoned mansion and, without spoiling the discovery of my story, you will have to explore, solve puzzles that are not always easy to find out what happened to cause the six previous guests to disappear.
This adaptation allows you to relive the original story in a very immersive way thanks to VR and therefore to find characters like Martine Burden, Brian Dutton or even Edward & Elinor Knox. Thus, the mansion comes to life thanks to visuals announced as high-end, ghostly volumetric video captures and an adaptive soundtrack inspired by that of the original title.. Optical illusions and puzzles are new and designed for VR, which should make the experience even more immersive.
The 7th Guest VR will therefore be available on Meta Quest (2, 3, Pro), PlayStation VR 2 and SteamVR starting October 19.
