The green light to grant 35 billion to Warsaw divides the Commission.

It’s a good week for the Polish government. On Monday, the Twenty-Seven agreed on the embargo – admittedly partial – on Russian oil which he had been calling for since the start of the war in Ukraine. And on Wednesday, the European Commission formally approved the post-Covid recovery plan submitted by Poland more than a year ago, on May 3, 2021. As it has done for all other member states that have successfully passed the event (24 at this stage), President Ursula von der Leyen will travel to Warsaw on Thursday to immortalize the moment.
The amounts involved are considerable: 23.9 billion euros in grants and 11.5 billion euros in loans.

However, the Polish government will still have to wait before starting to receive this windfall. Because the green light from the Commission is an opinion.
