The Afterlife in Pixels… What to Expect in Season 2 of Prime Video Upload

After a very successful first season, Greg Daniels’ futuristic series returns to Prime Video for a new burst of episodes this March 11. A brief update on what awaits viewers in this second season.

Anticipation series alternately funny – not surprising when you know that it was created by the man behind The Office US and Parks and Recreation – and touching – thanks to the lovely relationship developed by the heroes embodied by Robbie Amell and Andy Allo and his reflection on life after death -, Upload was renewed by Prime Video in 2020.

And it’s only today, almost two years later, that the new season is coming to the platform, still with the same energy that emanates from it! The series picks up where the characters left off: Nathan stuck in the 2 Gigabyte neighborhood of Lake View and Nora fleeing the city, after being the target of the mysterious man who had already tried to destroy the hard drive containing Nathan’s data. .

Without forgetting Ingrid, who, in the last scene of season 1, appeared in front of the one she loves, assuring him of having uploaded to be able to live by his side. The new episodes will therefore focus on the cohabitation between the ex-lovers, the young woman played by Allegra Edwards doing everything possible to win Nathan’s heart back.

Ingrid, however, remains true to herself: an extremely privileged woman very focused on appearances (and holder of a secret!), the complete opposite of Nora, whom the hero struggles to forget…

A new community

Because the Angel has indeed deserted Horizen (the company in charge of Lake View’s digital “paradise”) and settled with his father in a community quickly mentioned during the first season, the Luds. The latter reject technology and particularly the discrimination it entails between rich and poor.

Nora and Matteo

The Luds and their charismatic leaders, including Matteo (Paulo Costanzo) and Pastor Rob (Peter Bryant), will therefore also be at the heart of the plot of this new season. A welcome addition to make the futuristic world of Upload even more exciting and also to complicate the character of Nora, torn between two lifestyles and two relationships.

Ever more delusional ideas

On the side of Lake View, the writers are always having a field day with the introduction of new characters or wacky ideas like prototykes, babies that uploads can buy.

Depressed by the disappearance of Nora, Nathan will also find a taste for life (or rather death), by playing Robin Hood. Without counting on the mystery around his murder which, we hope, will be clarified in these new episodes.

One thing is in any case sure, Upload will continue in its season 2 to entertain the spectators! A season 3 could even see the light of day if Prime Video is satisfied with the audiences for the new episodes. Greg Daniels has already started working on it, as he recently told Collider.
