Last year, information from job postings revealed that the next game in the Mafia saga was described as an unannounced title, planned for multiple platforms and currently in pre-production, using the Unreal Engine 5. that the game is still in the pre-production phase.
The job announcement also mentioned that the next iteration of the Mafia franchise will include improved gameplay loops incorporating infiltration and combat, promising a richer experience compared to what we experienced in the third episode.
A prequel in Sicily?
According to a report from Kotaku in May 2022, the game would be a prequel set in Sicily, the birthplace of the Mafia, and will be set several years before the first Mafia game, which starred Tommy Angelo in the 1930s. This perspective historical could offer narrative and contextual richness, plunging players into the origins of the mafia well before the time of the first game.
