the annual net profit decreases but the operational progress

The French construction, media and telecoms giant Bouygues recorded in 2022 a net profit down 13.51% to 973 million euros, reduced by exceptional costs linked to operations, but operating profit increased by 16 .38% to 2.018 billion euros.

Net income group share was down due to 90 million euros in exceptional costs related in particular to the costs of mergers and acquisitions operations concerning the takeover of the technical services group Equans Engie and costs related to the proposed marriage between TF1 and M6 eventually aborts.

These results are compared to a favorable base in 2021 which included capital gains from data center disposals and disposals of Alstom shares.

Turnover increased by 18% to 44.3 billion euros.

Almost all of Bouygues’ businesses are experiencing an increase in activity, still mainly driven by construction and services.

In an unstable environment, marked by inflation, rising interest rates and currency volatility, Bouygues is aiming for sales in 2023 close to those of 2022, and an increase in current operating income from its activities ( ROCA), the group said in a statement.

It will propose to its shareholders the payment of a stable dividend of 1.80 euros per share for 2022, the group also specified.
