The astonishing offer made by Elizabeth II to Meghan Markle to ensure her well-being in the royal family

Queen Elizabeth II made a surprising offer to her grandson’s wife Meghan Markle to ensure her well-being within the royal family, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul has revealed Burrell, at the Mirror this Sunday October 8.

She did everything – or almost – to ensure their happiness. However, this was not enough sincehe prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, left Great Britain with loss and crash in March 2020, in what is now commonly known as Megxit. Queen Elizabeth II, still alive at the time, had nevertheless tried to hold themnot by forcing them to stay, but by making their lives as comfortable as possibleas revealed by Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, at Mirror this Sunday, October 8.

Aware that joining the royal family might not be easy – but also that she could be an asset for the monarchy –, the Queen took the time to have important discussions with his grandson’s wife. According to Paul Burrell, the mother of King Charles III even decided to make an unprecedented offer to the former actress in order to ensure that she would live a happy life within her family. “The Queen was very gracious and very kind to Meghan”he said, before specifying: “She even told Meghan, ‘You can continue acting if you want, continue your career.'” Words which show to what extent the late Queen wanted to see her grandson and his wife grow as active members of the royal family.

Meghan Markle did not accept Queen Elizabeth II’s offer

At the time, Meghan Markle chose not to accept this very surprising offer coming from Queen Elizabeth II, very attached to protocol. During the engagement of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the latter had explained her choice to give up being an actress : “I don’t see it as a giving up of anything, I just see it as a change.” And the mother of Archie and Lilibet clarified: “It’s a new chapter. And also keep in mind that I’ve been working on my show for seven years, so we’re very lucky to be able to have that kind of longevity. […] Now it’s time, like [Harry] said, to work as a team with [lui].” For Paul Burrell, the couple’s departure for the United States is just a waste : “It’s mind-boggling how much goodwill Meghan and Harry have wasted. I think that’s why the Queen was particularly hurt when Harry left the royal family, because she didn’t want to . She wanted him to stay, and she did her best to persuade them to stay.” Unfortunately, it didn’t work.
