The African presidents making up the delegation led by South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa met their Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Saint-Petersburg on Saturday June 17. “It is in our common interest that this war ends”, underlined the South African head of state. An initiative welcomed by Vladimir Putin.
The day before, in kyiv, the same delegation had been met with an end of inadmissibility from the Ukrainian head of state. “Allowing negotiation with Russia now, when the occupier is on our land, means freezing war, freezing pain and suffering”argued Volodymyr Zelensky, whose armed forces are in full counter-offensive.
