Steel Nomad could it become our favorite scene in the test of all graphics cards future ?

Only a few days ago, the company UL Solutions was happy to celebrate the anniversary (what do they say, the quarter century!) of its flagship software, 3DMark.

The famous 3D performance measurement tool has effectively followed all developments from the emergence of 3D on 3DFX accelerator cards to AMD/NVIDIA competition.

A fifth scene in 10 years?

Year after year, 3DMark evolved until 2013, when its developers decided to stop offering new versions to “simply” evolve a basic tool.

This is how after the first scene launched in 2013 (Fire Strike), the Finnish creators of 3DMark waited three long years to offer us the still very popular Time Spy. In 2019, ray tracing is in the spotlight, with the establishment of a dedicated scene, Royal Port.

Finally, the latest development arrived during last year, with the release of SpeedWaya module intended to include all the latest technological developments.

A release next year?

Except that things seem to be moving faster than the 3DMark authors thought, and here they are already trying to tease us with the brand new 3D scene that they are finalizing.

UL Solutions does not communicate any date or launch window, but as it begins to talk about the release of this scene, we can imagine that it will be available sometime next year, only two years after the release. former.

The new scene is named Steel Nomadand if we do not yet know what its characteristics will be or what technologies it will be responsible for highlighting, the first captures are already there, and even if it lacks movement, it is undoubtedly very pretty.
