In the finale of The Bachelor, David Jackson stands between two women: Lisa and Angelina. The question: Which one can he rather let go?

For several episodes, David Jackson (32) has had the big problem of “The Bachelor” (Wednesdays, 8:15 p.m., RTL and in advance on RTL+) to decide between two women in particular: Lisa (32) and Angelina (28). While he was handing the last rose to Angelina, the bombshell burst in the debriefing after the last episode: Jackson is no longer with Angelina, but now with Lisa, who was actually runner-up. But first things first…

Adventurer Lisa also starts her last date with an emphasis on nonchalance: “We’re going indoor karting today. Yeah, I’ve done it before.” After she’s held baby alligators in her hands, traveled halfway around the world, rides a motorbike and is even superior to David at surfing, the course of the race is actually clear. Kindly, Lisa always waits for David at the finish line, “so that we can start together again…”

David after his defeat: “My ego says I let her go first. But the truth is, she’s done better.” Apparently it’s her ambition and her determination that he appreciates about her. As a spectator, you bet against it at the end of the final.

Lisa shows feelings, David becomes a teenager

The date continues in a “dreamy chalet”. With photos of their trip together, the two review everything again. Even Lisa, who is more reserved with feelings, softens briefly and shows her fear: “It could really be that you don’t go out together in a week and then you don’t see each other anymore.” David: “That really touched me, that was really nice.” The two spend the night together – the first sleepover date of the season. The morning after, David resembles a honey cake horse: “It was just beautiful, you felt like you were a teenager.”

Then Angelina comes. In a bird of prey sanctuary they let a five-kilo bird fly. Afterwards we cook pasta together and cuddle on the couch in front of the fireplace. Angelina: “Shit, I fell in love, I have no idea, it’s like that…” David: “It’s definitely more like having a crush…” She also asks David to stay the night. The next morning, both agree: “Everything is completely surreal,” says Angelina. Only that Angelina “has no idea” how to proceed.

Meanwhile, David is struggling with his responsibility: “At the moment it’s a decision that I would like to make because I don’t feel able to make it.” He must now ask himself which woman he is more likely to let go. Shortly before the final decision, he no longer seems insecure in a suit and bow tie: “Nevertheless, I already have the feeling that my journey, my story, will end with a happy ending.”

The decision – or not?

In his closing speeches, he tells Angelia that he feels she is thinking “from the heart”. With Lisa it was magical from the first moment. He would not have known “that characteristics that I carry within me would also fascinate me in a woman”. Meanwhile, Lisa looks more and more tense and looks down in concern. She seems to know what’s coming: “But I have to tell you that my feelings for Angelina are stronger there.” Another hug, then Lisa rushes off: “I saw it immediately,” she says afterwards in the car. And: “Now I have my normal life again, and I’m looking forward to it.”

The provisional happy ending is reserved for Angelina: “I fell in love with you and I would be very happy if you accepted the last rose.” And “Utze”, her sonorous nickname, says yes: “I fell in love with you too.”

After the last scene, the bomb burst in the RTL studio: David Jackson is no longer with Angelina Utzeri, but actually with Lisa Mieschke, who was actually second. Utze reveals that the decision to separate quickly was made by mutual agreement. After filming, David was more emotionally absent than before. That “didn’t fit between us”. They met twice before they split up.

After the breakup, he then sought contact with Lisa, and shortly thereafter she visited him in Dubai. There she stated: “It’s all still there!” They would have tied seamlessly into their story. “We didn’t have to talk much, we felt everything again immediately,” says Lisa.
