New project for Jason Statham: The actor has secured the lead role in the action thriller “The Bee Keeper”.
Jason Statham (54) soon embarks on the “mythology of beekeeping”. The actor has caught the leading role in the new action thriller “The Bee Keeper” (in German: “The Beekeeper”), as reported by the industry portal “Deadline”, among others. The script therefore comes from the pen of Kurt Wimmer (57). The US film production company Wiramax is said to have paid a seven-digit amount for the rights.
However, it will be a while before the action flick hits the cinemas. According to the report, filming is not due to begin in London and Atlanta until September 2022. So far there is no director.
It’s not the first time Statham has partnered with Studio Miramax. The action thriller “Cash Truck”, which grossed around 104 million dollars worldwide (the equivalent of around 88 million euros), was shown in cinemas in July of this year. The spy thriller “Five Eyes”, which is due to be released in February 2022, has also been shot. Director Guy Ritchie (52) was also involved in both projects.
