The best children’s films to watch this Saturday, December 25 on the free channels: Bambi, Pierre Lapin…

Busy TV day for children who like to dream: from Cinderella to Snow White via Pierre Lapin or Gru, it’s a real parade of youth stars in the programs. Follow the leader !

If there is a day in the year that is dedicated to children, it is Christmas. We’re not just talking about gifts at the foot of the tree, of course. But also youth programs, planned by platforms and television channels to entertain them. Netflix, the undisputed leader in SVOD, has an extremely well-stocked catalog in this area. But other players like MyCanal or Prime Video, do not have to be ashamed. TV channels also imagine their gates, thinking that after opening their packages, our cherubs are bound to want something else! And, on a cold winter’s day, nothing beats a good family movie by the fireplace or curled up on your sofa. Yesterday on the free channels, the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park were in the spotlight. Today, the priority is clearly the youth. Here is our selection.

A villain, hero of an animated film, that’s a great idea! Gru, since it’s him we’re talking about, is decked out with an army of little hands, the Minions. Annoyed by a competitor, he decides to achieve the biggest blow of his career: to steal the Moon. His meeting with three adorable orphans will complicate things … Funny variation on the theme of the villain (Gru is obviously not that despicable that), the scenario turns out very well written. Both inventive and rhythmic, the story combines a great spectacle, exquisite characters and hilarious gags (the Minions, irresistible). A well-stirred cocktail, which will appeal to young and old.

In the English countryside, a mischievous and thief rabbit makes life difficult for the owner of a cottage. Animated and humorous, the free adaptation of a great success of children’s literature.

Raised by her cruel stepmother, the beautiful and sweet Cinderella is condemned to thankless tasks. But a ball at the court and the intervention of his godmother, a fairy, could well change the situation. The story is known, but it is the treatment by the Disney studios that makes this marvel of animated cinema, shot more than half a century ago, remains as haunting as ever today.

Once upon a time … Snow White, a young princess mistreated by her vain mother-in-law, the queen. Jealous of the beauty of her daughter-in-law, the stepmother decides to have her killed by a gamekeeper. But the latter, seized with pity, abandons him in the forest. Adapted from the famous tale of the Brothers Grimm, the first animated feature film from Disney studios is a real delight.

Bambi, at 9:05 p.m. on M6

Bambi, a young fawn, future king of the forest, finds himself alone in the world after the death of his mother, victim of a hunter. But the helpless little animal soon finds two inseparable friends: Thumper, a resourceful and inexhaustible rabbit, and Fleur, an adorable polecat. Absolute classic of animation according to Walt Disney, Bambi, 79 years old on the clock, has not aged a single wrinkle. A masterpiece to see and review!
