If the mastery of Parkour allows you to get out of a good number of unfortunate situations on Dying Light 2, unfortunately it is not always enough. To put all the chances on your side, it is better not to neglect the fight. Here are the skills to focus on if you want to survive the hordes of infected.
In Dying Light 2, experience is the sinews of war. By completing different tasks ranging from exploration to missions to challenges, not to mention of course doing Parkour and fighting the infected, players earn XP which they can invest later in 2 skill trees: Combat or Parkour.
Unsurprisingly, investing in the Parkour tree will make it easier to move around, while the Combat tree will unlock techniques to more easily defeat opponents, whatever they may be.
If the usefulness of Parkour is undeniable, we must not neglect the Combat for all that, it is often what will make the difference between life and death. The Combat tree has 24 skills to unlock, which must be chosen wisely.
Combat skills to unlock in Dying Light 2
Perfect Dodge
The “Perfect Dodge” skill is definitely worth unlocking if you want to take on the infected without losing all your hit points.
Since the infected have a tendency to move in groups, it can be difficult to find an opportunity to attack them without risking being overwhelmed. Having the ability to dodge, but also to stun an opponent then becomes an invaluable asset.
Perfect Parry
Along the same lines, if performed correctly, the “Perfect Parry” skill stuns the enemy and then slows them down, providing the opportunity to inflict as much damage as possible on them for a certain amount of time without them being able to retaliate.
Power Attack
Quick attacks are very useful in the early game, but when the going gets tough, they just aren’t enough. This is where the skill “Powerful Attack” comes into play, allowing you to deliver a powerful blow to enemies, which inflicts heavy damage.
The Dying Light 2 Combat Tree
Best of all, this skill can’t be blocked, and it interrupts enemies, making it particularly useful against opponents who are giving a hard time.
Stabbing (Stab)
In Dying Light 2, not everyone likes to rush headlong, drawing the attention of all enemies in the area. Some players prefer to hide in the shadows and take out enemies stealthily. If this is your case, “Stab” is a must-have skill.
It allows opponents to be instantly assassinated when their backs are turned using a knife.
Windmill (Windmill)
Being able to deal area damage can always be useful. “Windmill” allows you to spin your weapon in a circle and eliminate all opponents that cross your path.
It’s definitely one of the most satisfying abilities to use on this list, as well as being particularly effective.
