The best hot air fryers: These are the winners of the Stiftung Warentest

If you want to do without unhealthy trans fats, but not your favorite fried food, a hot air fryer is well advised. Food such as french fries, chicken or vegetables can be prepared without adding fat. Thanks to the gentle preparation, the food should also be richer in vitamins. So it’s no wonder that hot air fryers are so popular – and the device market is large.

The Stiftung Warentest has taken a close look at hot air fryers. The decisive factor for the rating is how well you can prepare certain foods. For example, the browning and crispness fall into the evaluation. During preparation, it is also measured how accurate and even the temperature in the device is. None of the hot air fryers tested received the top grade “very good” and “good”. After all, three devices are worth a “satisfactory” rating and, with some strengths, can compensate for the less than optimal temperature distribution.
