The best photos – farmers’ union ball in Graz: traditional costume event is back

Finally farmers’ union ball again! After two years of the compulsory Corona break, the largest ball in Europe will take place for the 72nd time on Friday evening in the Graz Stadthalle. Politicians, celebrities and 16,000 party animals celebrated under the motto “Fry the sheep?”

Shows like “Bauer sucht Frau” have long been cult, and farmers seem to have a certain appeal to many others. And now that the days of forced online dating are fortunately over, the organizers of the farmers’ union ball have given the event a motto that invites you to cuddle goat association, which is responsible for the culinary art, but also on flirting and the joy of being together. On around 40,000 square meters, the ball of the Styrian balls was officially opened on Friday evening at 8 p.m. with a dance performance and speeches. Celebrities didn’t need to be asked twice either and flocked to the resurrected major event – even if some were rather reserved, for example “Dancing Star” and ex-Sturm President Hannes Kartnig: “I’m banned from ORF parquet until March!” He explained why he will not dance that evening. Dance professional Willi Gabalier and 66 students put on a venerable dance Start with a “Stuhlecker Landler”. “It’s nice to combine both passions: dancing and farming,” he reveals. The rural youth of Southeast Styria danced in the other hall. Among the guests of honor were a few others with a second job as a farmer: Provincial Councilor Hans Seitinger, Minister of Agriculture Norbert Totschnig (“I’ve always enjoyed working with animals”), MEP Simone Schmiedtbauer and others like that who come from farming families, such as Sturm President Christian Jauk. Governor Christopher Drexler would try his hand at farming wine and pigs if he could: “A Buschenschank would be a particular challenge. Running one is, I think, almost like politics.” Highnesses from B to Z 13 highnesses – from the Wild Garlic Queen to the Swiss Pine Princess – mingled with the hearty party people. Marc Pircher, The Princes, The Daredevils, The Southern Styrians, Egon 7 or something like Die Nockis play for you on four stages, DJ- but also at the fashion show, the acrobatics show or in the disco it gets hot all night long.Naschenweng heats up the crowdThe main act is Schlager- Princess Melissa Naschenweng standing on stage.
