And, far from an ego trip, it’s not one of his on-screen incarnations, but 2018’s terrific animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
“I think the first Spider-Verse movie is the best Spider-Man movie that’s ever been made. I’m so proud of everyone involved in this project. Amy Pascal [NDR : la productrice des films Spider-Man] is like my mother. I was supposed to be her date for the movie premiere, but I couldn’t because I worked here. But I’m incredibly proud of them. I can’t wait to see the second one. I’m sure it will live up to all expectations.”
Crowned in 2019 with a well-deserved Oscar for Best Animated Feature, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse brought in just over $384 million to Sony Pictures. Its sequel, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, has just hit the webs around the world. To date, it has already brought in $208 million.
