“The Blacklist” season 9 returned to US broadcaster NBC just a few days ago with episode 6 from a three-week break. Now the fans have to be prepared for a longer waiting period.
Episode 7 of the 9th season will not appear in the USA until January 6, 2022. According to UK magazine Express, there are two reasons for the two longer breaks.
One reason is the holidays. Thanksgiving was celebrated in the United States on November 25, 2021. Now Christmas and New Years are just around the corner. The broadcaster wants to use the breaks to prevent losing viewers who are busy during the holidays.
The other reason, however, is likely a change in NBC’s programming that is being seen across all broadcasters. Many fans will find it difficult to wait after the revelations from Episode 6.
Because in “Dr. Roberta Sand, PhD” Red (James Spader) learned that Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) had Liz (Megan Boone) read the letter before she died. As a result, Dembe has abused his trust in a way that he would never have thought possible.
Episode 7 will likely focus on Red and Dembe’s relationship, with Red questioning his connection with the people he is close to. There will likely be a history flashback that contextualizes some of the key events that led to Liz’s death.
How it came to the rift between Red and Dembe between seasons 8 and 9, according to the series producers, is not yet revealed.
