The young woman lost her baby in utero at nine months of pregnancy a year earlier, on May 25, 2020. A difficult ordeal especially since she had to give birth to her deceased baby without knowing why he had lost his life. “An autopsy was performed, but apparently they couldn’t find anything. They speak of a sudden infant death “, she tells us.

This blanket, she placed it on her grave on December 25, at the time of the end of the year celebrations. “It should have been her first Christmas”, she regrets. It therefore had a very special meaning. When she saw that he was missing, she was distraught. “I was thinking of a theft, I was really sad. All the more so since Tuesday was the 25th, his first birthday… ”, she tells us.

An intriguing disappearance

On May 27, however, a small miracle happened. The plush has been returned to its place. Even better, it has been placed in a Plexiglas box to protect it from rain and wind. The stranger went further by moving the other blanket present on the grave to keep it safe as well. A gesture that greatly touched and intrigued the young mother. “It was my sister-in-law who sent me the photo of the stuffed toy put back in its place. I immediately asked him how it was possible. She had no idea “, she explains.

Wishing to find this person, in particular to thank them, Laura launched a search notice. “I contacted the few people who could have caused it, and they confirmed to me that they were not. While being as surprised as I am. I contacted the town hall who asked all those who work there if they had touched it, but it was not them either ”, she says. Before adding: “I first thought of a person who had stolen it, but who felt guilty and who went to put it down. But given that the blanket was put down very carefully and that the person also took care to wash it and to wedge the other stuffed animal so that it does not fly away, I told myself that it was a caring person. I imagined a little grandma who would have been touched to see a baby in a cemetery or a bereaved mother, like me… I wanted to know, to know her story, if we perhaps have similarities… and above all, to thank her! “

A “magnificent soul”

Laure was still determined to find the author of this gesture. She then published a message on the Facebook group “le mark des parents” as well as on his profile. His post was shared almost 5,000 times … and the magic of social media has happened. A young woman has indeed come forward in comment. “I am the one who took your blanket by mistake since I was with my son and when I noticed it I washed it and bought a box so that it does not fly away in the aisles. Your word touched me enormously, I didn’t think you were going to look for me because for me it was a natural reflex, and very touched by this little angel who was yours ”, wrote a certain Alex, offering to contact her by message. A “Magnificent soul” according to this mom.
